In this session MPC will go over the strategy of using Fabric Engine as the foundation for their VFX software. The team will also give concrete examples of where they are currently using Fabric in production and they’ll share some new direction they are taking with it.

Kraken 1.0: Cross-Platform Rigging with Fabric

Kraken is a new open-source rigging framework that takes advantage of Fabric Engine to provide a completely cross-platform, cross-DCC rigging framework. The project, led by Hybride Technologies, is being used in production and will soon be released for everyone to use. Come to Eric’s presentation and find out more!

Fabric in Production: Psyop hair and jiggle systems

with Jonah Friedman, Psyop

Jonah will give an overview of some tools built at Psyop, including hair and jiggle systems, and demonstrate using them with Fabric Canvas visual programming. He’ll also demonstrate how painting weight maps to mask off certain portions of the hair can be done using Fabric Engine manipulation.
